As I continue my journey in cybersecurity, acquiring certifications has been a key part of my learning process. Certifications not only validate my skills but also provide structured learning paths to deepen my knowledge. Below is a breakdown of the certifications I have completed so far and what they have contributed to my expertise.

Completed Certifications

Pre Security Certificate (September 5, 2024)

This certification served as my first step into cybersecurity. It covered fundamental topics such as networking, security principles, operating systems, and foundational cybersecurity concepts. Completing this certification helped me build a strong base for further studies and gave me a clear understanding of the industry's core principles.

Introduction to Cyber Security Certificate (September 5, 2024)

Building upon the Pre Security certification, this one introduced more in-depth cybersecurity concepts. It covered risk management, basic cryptography, and common cyber threats. This certification was instrumental in helping me understand how security measures protect systems and data in real-world scenarios.

Complete Beginner Certificate (October 25, 2024)

This certification was designed to take absolute beginners through essential IT and security concepts. It provided hands-on experience with security tools and frameworks, along with an introduction to ethical hacking methodologies. At this stage, I started to feel more confident about navigating cybersecurity tools and applying theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios.

Cyber Security 101 Certificate (January 9, 2025)

A deeper dive into cybersecurity, this certification covered fundamental security mechanisms, authentication protocols, and more advanced network security principles. It helped me develop a more structured approach to assessing and mitigating security risks in different environments.

Jr Penetration Tester Certificate (February 21, 2025)

One of the most critical certifications I have completed so far. This certification focused on penetration testing methodologies, vulnerability assessments, exploitation techniques, and security reporting. It was a significant step toward my goal of becoming a penetration tester. I learned how to simulate real-world attacks, identify weaknesses in systems, and understand ethical hacking in a professional setting.

Linux Essentials Certificate (February 28, 2025)

Given how prevalent Linux is in the cybersecurity industry, this certification was essential. It covered fundamental Linux administration, command-line usage, system security, and basic scripting. Mastering Linux is crucial for ethical hacking, server administration, and security research, making this an important milestone.

Current Training

Right now, I am actively preparing for the Security Essentials Exam 020. Since cybersecurity is a vast field, I want to make sure that my foundational knowledge is as solid as possible before moving on to more advanced certifications. This exam will help me establish a structured approach and give me an easier start in cybersecurity.

Additionally, I have also started working on the CompTIA PenTest+ certification. This certification is specifically tailored for penetration testers and cybersecurity professionals focusing on offensive security. It covers essential topics like industry-standard penetration testing tools, network service exploitation, web application vulnerabilities, Windows Active Directory attacks, and post-exploitation techniques using tools like BloodHound and Mimikatz. This aligns perfectly with my goal of strengthening my skills in ethical hacking and penetration testing, and I am eager to gain hands-on experience with the methodologies covered in this training.
